Do you shoot at my location?

Yes I can either shoot at your restaurant or in a rented studio space. I do not shoot at private residences. Kitchen studio rental starts at $1500/day. Alternatively, I offer a remote live shoot (for products and baked goods only) where you can review and select the images instantly during the shoot.

What’s a live remote shoot?

With the aid of Capture One Live, you are able to view the raw images during the shoot at the comfort of your home or office. You can choose your favourites, approve the shots or let me know through Zoom how you would like to change things up during the shoot. Please note that the person in charge of approving the images has to be on Zoom throughout the shoot.

Do I need to close my outlet for the shoot?

I can do the shoot during your outlet’s operating hours although I advise to do so during your off peak hours to minimise disruption to your operations. Based on my experience, closure of your outlet for the shoot would yield the best results.

How many photos can you shoot in a day?

It varies and depends on a variety of factors such as your kitchen/chef, complexity in food/product styling etc. Typically styled shots, group shots, mood shots, lifestyle shots, action shots, hands in frame and levitating shots take more time. It could take 30 - 45 minutes for a simple dish with minimal styling to 2 hours and more for a complicated dish with maximal styling and hands in frame. With your finalized shot list, I am able to advise how many shots can be achieved in a day.

How do you charge?

I offer a day rate (up to 8 hours) shoot. Please note that receipts and invoices will be provided for all production expenses.

Do you work alone or with a team?

I work with a crew comprising of photography assistants, food stylists, prop stylists, retouchers etc.

What kind of gear do you use?

I use full-frame cameras, Godox strobes, Aputure continuous lighting together with other pieces of equipment to capture your images.

Do you retouch photos?

Yes basic editing such as colour correction and clean up is part of my services. For major retouching such as composites and colour shifts, I would provide you with a quote from a professional retoucher.

How do we get our photos?

Once the balance 50% payment has been received, I will send you the edited files via Dropbox or Wetransfer.

Do you provide props and food styling services?

If requested, I would send over my online props and backdrops catalogue where you can select your preferred props and backdrops for your shoot. My team comprises of food stylists and props stylists.

What’s your typical timeline?

For props, backgrounds and surfaces sourcing, I would need a lead time of 2 - 3 weeks to source, purchase and receive them. Mood Board creation if requested takes about 1 - 2 weeks. I hand over high resolution edited JPEG images within 3 to 7 working days. For faster turnarounds, I charge a rush fee.

How do we book you?

Please WhatsApp me at +65 9750 0459 to book your photo shoot. Your preferred shoot day is secured once I received the signed contract and the 50% advance.

What are your payment terms?

To secure your booking, I would require a 50% advance and the balance 50% to be paid immediately after shoot day.

What happens after I hire you?

I would create a mood board based on your concept and reference images provided or run through the creative brief provided by you. In the mood board or creative brief I go into specifics in the shot list so that things would proceed as planned on shoot day. Prior to shoot day, we would meet at your location or on Zoom to discuss the mood board or creative brief as well as view the area allocated for the shoot. I would meet the chefs and other team members involved in the shoot to run through the plan for shoot day.
